Gay Pheromones
Posted on Friday, May 13, 2005 :|: One person cared enough to Comment

I just read an article titled Gay Men Respond Differently to Pheromones. I've been wondering about that for a while now. I was thinking about trying those fragrances with pheromones, but I wasn't sure if I should get the perfume or cologne.

My favorite quote from the article:
"The Swedish researchers divided 36 subjects into three groups - heterosexual men, heterosexual women and homosexual men. They studied the brain response to sniffing the chemicals, using PET scans. All the subjects were healthy, unmedicated, right-handed and HIV-negative."

What's wrong with left-handed people?

the reason they all had to be right-handed is standard procedure. when doing research in neurology, scientists almost always ensure that all subjects are right-handed, or run separate trials for -right and -left handed subjects if appropriate or necessary, because of the differences between the -left and -right handed brain. if you follow the link i specified for the record, you will find a sizeable collection of recent neurological findings, and if you examine them more closely, you might notice that in nearly all cases, all subjects were right-handed.
