Tales of the Clutch
Posted on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 :|: Nobody cared enough to Comment
I decided to go ahead and fix the Mazda. I had it towed to the shop yesterday. Today they called me and told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They were able to get it in gear without trouble, which is something I wasn't able to do. They recommended that I drive it some, and bring it back if the problem happens again. All they did was road test it and look underneath. They didn't take anything apart. They didn't look at the clutch or transmission even when I asked them to. Pretty much all they did was take $112 of my money and tell me to go fuck myself. Needless to say, I'm pretty mad at the people at the shop. I drove the truck to work today to see if it would act up again. I made it to work and back with no trouble. Since the truck has been sitting in the carport since February it has gotten covered with dirt. I rounded up some quarters and got in the truck to head for one of those coin-op car washes. All of a sudden I wasn't able to get it in gear again. I guess the problem only occurs after the transmission heats up. I'm gonna try again in a day or two and see what happens. I was ready to spend the money on getting the truck fixed, but now I have decided that I really don't need to spend the money at this time. I'm still thinking about it, but I won't be sending it back to that shop again. Comments
