Chronicles of the Disturbed

I got an email this weekend from a guy who was researching schizophrenia for a school project. He wanted to know what it is like to have schizophrenia. I guess he saw my Schizophrenic Campaign page. I told him that I don't have schizophrenia. At least I haven't been diagnosed with it. I always lie to the doctors out of fear of being committed. I have been told that I exhibit signs of bipolar disorder by people who have experience with bipolar individuals, but none of those people were doctors. This made me wonder, so I opened up the interweb and searched for information on schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. This lead me to an article titled Major Depression and Manic-Depression - Any difference?. Now I am confused. I always knew that I had a problem with depression, but I never knew that my "manic episodes" could really be manic episodes. I also am not sure if my manic episodes were only the result of alcohol. I don't really pay much attention to it, but I think my "manic episodes" only occur when I'm drunk. My friends have made the observation that I am not as much fun when I am not drunk. I know that I suffer from major depression, but now I find myself wanting to stay sober for a while. I want to see if I am really having manic episodes or it is just the alcohol. I only drink when my friends are drinking, and even then I can easily say no when I am short on cash (which I am now). However, I don't know how effective an experiment like that would be since I have been on a low for over two years. Maybe I should just go to a psychiatrist instead of trying to perform a self-diagnosis. Anyone know a good psychiatrist in my area who can fix me? Comments

Fix you? No. ;)
First, I'd like to note that I absolutely adore you sober. You are still fun to me. Second, I am bipolar. I was diagnosed years ago. Dr. Jolly is a pretty good psychiatrist. Let me know if you really want to know of some and I will get you a good list. As far as schizophrenia.. it can be defined in a person by various traits. Why do you feel you might have it? Just curious.. Love ya, Rachel p.s. still waiting on a reply as to whther or not you liked that song! ;) Comments are currently disabled due to abuse. Please email me.
