Goodbye To Yesterday
Posted on Sunday, June 04, 2006 :|: 2 people cared enough to Comment

Last Saturday I went to Carmax to sell the Mazda. I've had my truck for over 10 years now and it is time to say goodbye. I sold it for $750. It was hard to do. That truck has so many memories. I miss my truck already. I guess I really miss the good times I had in it. I used to drive around town with the truck packed full of friends. We would all pile in my truck and drive around until we found something to do. My truck has been through a lot. I've used it to tow the broken down cars of friends. I've used it to help several people move. I've taken the truck mudding several times and got stuck every time. There is just too much to talk about.

As much as I like the Explorer, I really need a truck. The more I think about it... the more I realize how handy the truck has been. I really do need a truck. This is why I bought a red 2005 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab PreRunner after selling the Mazda. I paid $24,299 for it. It was really nice. I have wanted a four door truck for a while and I heard great things from everybody who owns a Toyota. I didn't care for the red color, but I fell in love with it real quick. It was so sweet, but if you haven't figured it out yet I am speaking in past tense. I went over to see my dad the night I bought it. When I left I noticed an oil spot where I was parked. I popped the hood Sunday morning and did a thorough inspection. I realized that there was oil all over the inside of the skid plate. It looked like someone did a good job of cleaning the engine, but they missed the skid plate. There was also splatter marks on the fan shroud and parts of the engine that were not there when I bought it. I felt this was too much oil for a truck that was only a year old. I took it back after owning it for a day. They said they could fix it, but I just couldn't see myself in a red truck. Now the bastards are selling it for $1,300 less!!!! I think I'll go to the Toyota dealer in a couple months and get a new one for the same price.
