Washing Hands
Posted on Tuesday, April 06, 2004 :|: Nobody cared enough to Comment

I guess Matt is no longer my friend. He isn't talking to me anymore, but he is saying plenty behind my back. He didn't act this way until I found out what he wrote about me on his journal. At least he was still talking to me. I guess the comment I left on his site didn't help things, but just as he said to me, I don't regret anything I said.

Marc and his mom were trying to help Matt with his alcohol problem, as well as his responsibility problems(saving money, keeping a job, etc...). They let him move in hoping that a good influence would be the kick he needed. I don't think they knew what they were getting themselves into. Helping someone break an addiction, such as alcohol abuse, requires time and effort that Marc and his mom can't afford to give right now. But it doesn't matter cause Matt gave up. He moved out of their house and back in with his mom. I guess having someone try and help you to learn how to support yourself is "too controlling." I think Matt was most upset cause Marc and his mom wouldn't let him use Road Runner. He thought it was gonna be a perk of living there, but they decided that it would be an earned privilege. He also wasn't happy with his list of chores. Apparently he thought Marc's family had a housekeeper who would clean up after him. They are trying to sell the house and Matt was leaving clothes and beer bottles all over his room. He was also drinking Marc's liquor, which Marc had told him not to touch.

Now it is back to the original plan of just me and Marc renting a house. I really didn't think Matt would be joining us. I wanted to. I wanted to give him the opportunity. I wanted to see him make something of himself. But I guess he didn't want that. It is probably better that way. The less roommates I have, the less likely I am to kill one of them.

All this comes shortly after the realization that Andy doesn't seem to be a friend anymore. He played a joke on me that I took serious offense to and we haven't talked since. We've had problems for a while and our friendship has drifted apart. I guess that was just the last straw. So it looks like I'm down to two and a half close friends now. I call Hersh a half friend cause I never see him anymore, but he still calls me at least once a month. I don't blame him though. His boyfriend has such a tight leash on him that he can barely go anywhere other than work. He pretty much isn't allowed to hang out with me or any of his other friends without advance written permission.
