Robbed At Gunpoint

I'm very upset right now so I have to vent this one. A lot of emotion has been restrained in this rant, so you can add explicatives and other stuff to fill in the blanks. Just a few hours ago me and four friends (Marc, Patrick, Brent, and Matt) were heading home from another Saturday night hangout. If you hadn't figured it out already, this wasn't a normal Saturday night. Marc, the driver, had to use the bathroom. Instead of pulling over in a good neighborhood, he decided he wanted to hold it because he doesn't like public restrooms. Eventually he couldn't wait anymore so he decided to stop at a gas station near (in?) parkway village. It's not the worst area in Memphis, but it's definitely NOT a good one. Marc knew this because he used to live around there. Anyways... The first gas station we passed had a cop parked at it. Because we had all been drinking some, Marc drove on. At the next gas station the bathrooms were out of order. At the third gas station, Marc was able to use the bathroom. I'm slightly claustrophobic so I had to get out cause the car was feeling cramped. I went in to buy a drink, but the girl was not exactly polite, so I said never mind when Marc came out of the bathroom. As we got back in his car another car pulled up behind us and asked if we had any weed. After we replied no, one of the four guys got out of the car. Here is where I get pissed off. Marc had the keys in the ignition, but he didn't start the car. He just sat there and watched the guy get out and walk up to us. When he got up to the window, he pulled out a gun and demanded our wallets. He got Marc and Patrick's wallets then he pointed the gun back at us. Matt and Brent said they didn't have a wallet on them, which was true. I started to weigh my options. I had five inches between the gun and my hand. I was five inches away from taking that gun out of his hand and shooting him with it. The only thing that kept me from doing this was that Brent was sitting so close I was afraid he would get shot when I grabbed the barrel. I was also lacking a reliable escape route cause Marc was having a panic attack, and I didn't have a door accessible. Don't ask what I would have done if I got out of the car with that guy's gun in my hand. Once again Anyways... I was about to hand him my wallet when he turned around and got back in the car. I was working on my next action before they even drove off. I was dialing 911 while everybody else was in a fucking coma. I would have tried to chase them a little to get a tag number or see where they went, but I couldn't get out cause Marc drives a two door Bronco II. The thing that pisses me off the most is that I believe this wouldn't have happened if I were driving. First, I wouldn't have stopped in such a neighborhood no matter how bad I had to go. And second, I would have started up the vehicle when they pulled up behind me and it would have been a homicide investigation instead of a robbery. I would have rammed that car and run over that fucking bastard in the process. Anyone else that got out would have been road kill too. I didn't want to ride with them in the first place. Nothing personal, I just don't like being trapped in a back seat without access to a door. I guess it's a claustrophobia thing. Next time I will listen to the gut. Comments
